How to arrange a small kitchen around the sink
Prepared by SEA Daily editors. Written October 30, 2026. Updated October 30, 2026.
Based on an untested situation, not a hands-on trial.

A small kitchen fails in three different places: the drain opening, the pipes under the sink, and the shallow drawer. This guide keeps those decisions separate. Nothing here is for sale.
Measure the opening, not the picture
A strainer is useful only if you can lift it out with a wet, oily hand. Measure the inner diameter. A waste disposer leaves no room for the same kind of strainer.
The cupboard is about pipes
- Clear width inside the cupboard
- Where the pipes and hoses cross
- How far the door swings
- Height left after the trap
The drawer is a third measurement
Measure the inside of the drawer, not the cabinet face. A divider that looks wide in a photo can be too tall for a shallow rental drawer. SEA Daily has not measured a sample range.
The wording has been edited. Sizes and materials have not been tested on a sample.
Common questions
Should I buy the rack and the strainer together?
No. They solve different spaces. Measure each one on its own.
Why is there no price?
Purchase cost and delivery are not confirmed, so no temporary number is shown.
